a Rafflecopter giveaway
This process is always such an encouragement to me! It's exciting to look back over the year and see how the kids have learned and grown, since it's hard to see the incremental change happening day by day. Thank you for the opportunity to win!
ReplyDeleteIt is so exciting to look back over the year and see progress.
DeleteThank you for your support and commenting, Renee.
Topics I would love to read: High School at Home. Transitioning to college. How to fit in foreign language.
ReplyDeleteI would also enjoy if you shared a series of posts with samples of 'showing progress' in each subject for different ages (elementary, jr high, high school).
Thanks for your great ideas! So glad you commented.
DeleteBecky has always been amazing to work with in doing our year end assessments! I think we've done 5 years now? My favorite part is that I can do it completely through email and don't have to take time to actually meet someone. As nice as Becky is to work with, it's just one less thing that I have to worry about working around. 😊
ReplyDeleteI love working with you Jennifer. 5 year,WOW! I started this blog and completing assessments this way just for the reason you shared. I wanted for families to be able to complete portfolio reviews in a convenient way.
DeleteHave a great day and thanks for commenting.
Becky
Thank you, thank you! For making the assessment process so convenient and simple. You always have an encouraging word for my homeschooling methods, and believe me, it helped me through the years more than you know!
ReplyDeleteThank you Lori! You do a wonderful job and it makes it easy. :-)

Looking forward to our first assessment, I suppose LOL
ReplyDeleteIt is really just a celebration of what you have completed over the year. It is good to look back and celebrate. I am always surprised at how much we accomplish. Thanks for commenting.

This celebration attitude is what has made all the difference for me! I was terrified of the first assessment after schooling independently for 8 years. I felt like I was being judged and needed approval to continue. In the process of the first assessment, I came to understand Becky's point of view: celebrating what we've learned, though generally it's not something scholastic that ends up being the most valuable.
DeleteYour words are so true! The process is about celebrating! You do so many things well, it is truly my pleasure to get a small peak into your year.
DeleteThanks for commenting. Enjoy your weekend.
All this assessment is so new to me as a new resident to Ohio!
ReplyDeleteWhere did you home educate before Ohio? Ohio is different with the assessment piece, but it is not really that hard. You will do great.
DeleteThanks for commenting.
Becky
It has been so lovely to have someone I know to walk me through this process - and Becky, you are always so positive and encouraging! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Laura. What a sweet note. You are such a faithful and consistent home educator and it is my privilege.
