Rachelle Rae Cobb: Silver Birthday Blog Tour

I always love to hear about homeschoolers and what they are doing after they graduate, so I was thrilled to be a part of Rachelle Rea Cobb's Silver Birthday Blog Tour.  Rachelle was home educated through highschool!  She has gone on to be the published author of three books.  I started reading the first book in her series, and I can highly recommend it.  She is giving away a beautiful necklace and copies of her book.  Make sure you scroll to the end of the post to enter the contest!  I tell you a little about the series and the The Sound of Silver below.

ABOUT The Steadfast Love SERIES

In 16th-century Europe, the Reformation rages between Protestants and Catholics. Gwyneth, half-Dutch, flees from England to Holland to escape the man who murdered her parents. When he follows her there and insists he came to rescue her, will she trust this man called Dirk? When tragedy strikes, will their steadfast love erode?

The stalwart saint and the redeemed rebel. One fights for faith, the other for honor…

After Dirk rescues Gwyneth from the Iconoclastic Fury, she discovers that faith is sometimes fragile—and hope is not as easy as it may seem. Gwyneth continues her quest to learn more about the love of God preached by Protestants she once distrusted.

Meanwhile, Dirk’s quest is to prevent his sullied name from staining hers. Will his choice to protect her prove the undoing of her first faltering steps toward a Father God? Once separated, will Dirk and Gwyneth’s searching hearts ever sing the same song? The Sound of Silver is available on Amazon.

Enter using the Rafflecopter form below to win a beautiful necklace created by Baubles, Beads, and Stuff and your choice of any one of Rachelle’s three books (the series begins in Book One, of course, but in case you have one or two of her books already, Rachelle will gladly send you the next one to read!).

International friends, the paperback & necklace giveaway is open to continental U.S. addresses only (sorry!). But do still enter, because one international winner will also be chosen to receive an e-book.

Dawn Crandall: Cautious Maiden Blog Tour (Give-Away)

Many of you know I love books and I love interacting with authors.  One of my favorite authors is Dawn Crandall.  She is currently having a blog tour for her new book The Cautious Maiden,  which includes two fabulous give-aways.   I am so honored that one of her tour stops is here at Ohio Homeschool Assessments.  Below you will find my review of The Cautious Maiden, her fabulous contest, and links to the other books in the series!   Thank you for stopping by today.

My Review

The Cautious Maiden by Dawn Crandall

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Cautious Maiden by Dawn Crandall is the fourth book in the Everstone Chronicles. It is a standalone novel, but would be much more enjoyable if you have read the other three in the series. Violet Hawthorne is our heroine in this novel. She is forced into a proposal with the notorious Vance Everstone. After reading the other three books in the series I came in not prepared to really like Vance, and was not sure what to think of him. But, through the heart felt writing of Mrs. Crandall I enjoyed seeing the transformation in Vance that only Christ can bring. By the end I was cheering for Vance. I was thankful for our God who redeems and loves the broken souls which includes me.
The Cautious Maiden is well written and a page turner. I was guessing till the end of the novel. Great romance, adventure and insight into the love of God. I highly recommend it!
I was given this book from the publisher.

The Contest!

Now for the contest.   Dawn is giving away The Cautious Maiden in Paperback and a lovely study Bible and tea set.  Make sure you enter using the Rafflecopter below.

A Royal Christmas to Remember: by Jeanna Young and Jacqueline Johnson

With the arrival of the most spectacular winter in years and Christmas only a night away, Princesses Joy, Grace, Faith, Charity, and Hope find themselves in the midst of a scene right out of a holiday fairy-tale in this newest adventure in the Princess Parables series A Royal Christmas to Remember. But then the threat of bandits in the village lead the king away from the castle on Christmas Eve! Suddenly, the bandits come crashing into the castle. Praying to God for courage and safety, the princesses are soon rescued by five brave knights and then do some rescuing themselves. The next day, the princesses go to the village to see how they can be of help to the people, discovering that the true meaning of Christmas is honoring and giving glory for the greatest gift of all.

The book A Royal Christmas to Remember is a beautiful hardback children's book with stunning illustrations and glittery highlights on the cover.  The book tells the story of the five Princesses Faith, Hope, Charity, Joy, and Grace and how they feel they need more storage for all of their Christmas decorations.  The princesses want their Christmas to be perfect and in the process forget the true meaning of Christmas.  After bandits attempt to steal their Christmas presents and decorations the princesses have an "Aha Moment" about the true meaning of Christmas.  The book is targeted for children four to eight years old.

I was so excited to have the privilege of reviewing A Royal Christmas to Remember.  I met one of the authors, Jeanne Young, at the Cincinnati Homeschool convention with her sweet daughters.  My daughters were so taken with the princess dolls and books that she brought.  I was thrilled that the stories were highly interesting to my daughters and taught Bible stories and morals.  I was not let down with A Royal Christmas to Remember.

Young readers will be drawn in by the beautiful illustrations and high quality of the book which make it enjoyable to read.  I enjoyed the Princess Journal section in the back where the princesses share a Bible verse and how their hearts were changed.  I highly recommend this book.

I was provided a copy of this book by the publisher. All opinions in this review are my own
